Happy 32nd Birthday, Buffy Anne Summers! (January 19, 1981)

apinchofbelladona:

These are actually my favorite episodes. “The Body” because it was, and still is, one of the most emotionally intense episodes I’ve ever seen on television.

Oh, Anya!

I’m reblogging this because I didn’t realize how I’d feel the same way as her after I reblogged it the first time.

anya is my favorite buffy character because she’s the only one who is ever honest about how fucking awful it can be to be alive and to be human. by having been non-human for so long, she’s the most human of all.

monsters aren’t scary, not really, what’s scary is this: that one day you will cease to breathe and you will be just a body and the world will continue to turn and people will continue to love and you will cease to be a part of it. and someday after that, when your bones are earth and you have ceased being loved, you will be forgotten.

This is the best explanation of why death is terrifying.

Oh Anya <3 :(

What is “Buffy the vampire slayer” ? part 3

One of the first tv shows  focused on strong female characters , making the heroine , Buffy Summers , a feminist icon. After 10 years , we still remember each one of these characters :  independant , fierce  , warrior , bad ass. It’s not only about physical strengh or how well they use their weapons , it’s about their journey ( emotionnal pain…) and how they get through the worst , stronger than ever. They came to win , to fight ,to rise.

For all the scoobies in the  world, Happy 15th anniversary!
